Award-winning McSpadden Custom Homes will offer free tours on Aug. 21 of its first waterfront custom home nearing completion in the new Lake Wylie community of McLean. The sprawling home on Cape August Place is set in a wooded lot of more than acre, with extensive shoreline, outdoor swimming pool and future dock.
The tour will take place 1-4 pm Sunday, Aug. 21, in the McLean neighborhood of South Shore. Neighborhood entrances are near the McLean information center in the historic McLean House at 175 Armstrong Road, Belmont, NC 28012.
Meet builder Doug McSpadden at the tour
Visitors will be able to tour the home and meet with the builder, Doug McSpadden. McSpadden will be on site to answer questions and share his philosophy for custom-home construction. He grew up on Lake Wylie and has earned numerous awards during his 28 years of building custom luxury homes.

The tour home has already been sold, but visitors will be able to explore other available homesites in the South Shore neighborhood. Other homes are also under construction in the South Shore neighborhood by Peachtree Residential and Arthur Rutenberg Homes.
Get help at the information center
The McLean community’s information center in the historic McLean House will be open for visitors from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 175 Armstrong Road. Staff at the center can explain the vision for McLean, share details about builders and provide maps and other materials.
