Bon Temps Paddle Battle debuts on Aug. 24
You can help make Lake Wylie history on Aug. 24 by joining the first ever Bon Temps Paddle Battle on Wylie. Even paddle-board newbies can join in the fun, says organizer Heidi Schmidt of Anchored Soul paddle-boarding company. Events range from a fun race to a 7-mile competition. Gamrath Glass at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
McLean’s next-door neighbor celebrates its 20th anniversary with an awe-inspiring, larger-than-life botanical glass exhibit, Grandiflora: Gamrath Glass at the Garden.
Guests will be mesmerized by hundreds of pieces of glass making up dozens of vibrant sculptures by Seattle-based artist Jason Gamrath. The show runs through Sept. 29, with daytime and evening viewings. Details
Labor Day music and fireworks at the Whitewater Center
